My name’s Georgie and over the next few weeks I’m really excited to be guest writing for IGO. I’m going to be sharing my experiences, practical advice and need to know tips to help you get the most out of your next adventure.
So, who’s Georgie?
By most people’s book’s I’m a fairly “normal” person. I live and work full time in London but when I’m not at my desk you’re pretty much guaranteed to find me involved in some kind of adventure. I have a real passion for challenging myself. I love to cycle, run, sail and everything in between (oh, and I’m a total porridge addict, but more on that later).
How hard can it be?
Over the last few years I’ve thrown myself into as many different challenges as I can. Rightly or wrongly, I tend to take the ‘screw it let’s do it’ approach which I’ve found has lead to me all sorts of interesting places. In fact, last year I went one step further and decided to take on 12 physical challenges in 12 months. I ended up doing all sorts of things including cross country skiing 26 miles across Switzerland, cycling to Paris in 24 hours, running a marathon and cycling 312 km around Mallorca in one day.
The big question
Why do I it? Well, in a nutshell, I want to throw myself into life and make sure I’ve experienced everything that I can. I want to push past the limits inside my head in search of a life filled with extraordinary tales. I’m living proof that you don’t need to be a professional athlete or a member of Bear Grylls’ family in order to live a more adventurous life.
Amazing experiences are out there for the taking, so over the next few weeks I’m going to be popping up in the IGO Newsletter with top tips and practical advice on all things adventure and challenge. Make sure you stay tuned.
